OEKO-TEX® Standard 100plus - the premium label for textiles from sustainable production tested for harmful substances. The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100plus identifies textiles which were tested for possible harmful substances and produced exclusively in environmentally friendly and socially responsible manufacturing facilities.
As a combination of the two certifications according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and STeP (Sustainable Textile Production) by OEKO-TEX®, the label therefore offers textile and clothing manufactures the option of drawing consumers' attention to textile items which are not harmful to their health as well as to the company's dedication to environmental protection and socially acceptable working conditions – with just one label.
At the moment, the OEKO-TEX® Association is working to create a new product label which will replace the previous OEKO-TEX® Standard 100plus, and is intended to be introduced to the market from summer 2014. It will enable products to be rewarded that are safe from an human-ecological point of view and which are at the same time sustainably manufactured.
